Gordon Frimpong is an experienced museum professional with a strong background in collections management, preservation, and cultural heritage. Currently serving as the Collections Manager at the Manhyia Palace Museum since May 2024, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the museum's collections, including documentation, preservation, security, and database management. Gordon plays a key role in supporting exhibition logistics, managing copyright permissions, and conducting research on collection materials.
His career at Manhyia Palace Museum began in 2005 as a General Purposes Officer, where he worked on key projects such as managing the Okomfo Anokye Sword Site. Prior to this, he served as a tour guide, where he enhanced visitors' experiences by leading engaging and informative tours about the museum’s exhibits.
Gordon holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resource Management from Ghana Baptist University College and a diploma in Journalism, Marketing Public Relations, and Sales from the Institute of Business Management and Journalism. He has attended numerous workshops and conferences on museum management and heritage preservation, including events organized by The British Museum.
